Lady Lions fall 3-0 to Williams Baptist on Senior Night

HENDERSON, Tenn. - The Freed-Hardeman Lady Lion volleyball team suffered their twelfth loss of the season Friday at the hands of Williams Baptist College, as the Eagles picked up the 3-0 win.

Prior to Friday's match, the Lady Lions honored Daymari Brito and Cynthia Beene for Senior Night.

Despite the loss, the Lady Lions received solid contribution on the attack by Meg Talkington, who ended the night with eight kills. Freshman Ashton Webb also played strong on the attack with seven kills of her own while Lindsey Gordon dished out 27 assists in the loss. Bailey Brown countered WBC's attack with 15 digs in the match.

Shelby Wallace led the Eagles on the attack with eight kills while Taylor Barton dished out 18 assists in the match. Jessica Baugh played well at the service line, as she contributed three service aces while Mallory Wright countered FHU's attack with 12 digs.

With the loss, the Lady Lions fall to 7-12 on the season and 3-4 in conference play. Williams Baptist College improves to 9-13 on the season and 4-4 in AMC play with the win.

UP NEXT: The Lady Lions will not get much of a break following Friday's match-up, as they will be right back at it Saturday for a match-up with conference foe Lyon (Ark.) College. Match time is slated for 1:00 PM at the Brewer Sports Center.
