HENDERSON, Tenn. - The Freed-Hardeman Lady Lion volleyball team got back on track in conference play Saturday, as they defeated Lyon College in straight-sets (25-13, 25-14, 25-15).

Daymari Brito led the Lady Lions on the attack with 10 kills while Ashton Webb followed close behind with eight kills of her own. Lindsey Gordon continued her strong play, as she dished out 27 assists while Cynthia Beene countered Lyon's attack with 16 digs.

The Lady Lions also performed well at the service line, led by Alex Britt, who ended the day with three service aces in the win.

FHU (8-12, 4-4 AMC) out-hit the Scots (13-12, 4-5 AMC) 33-28 in the match. The Lady Lions hit an impressive .300 in the match compared to Lyon College, who hit just.086.

The Scots were led on the attack by Katerina Frickleton, who ended the day with 12 kills. Brittney Beckham and Jordan Dabdub each contributed 13 assists in the match for Lyon while Madisson Williams countered FHU's attack with 16 digs.

The Lady Lions jumped out to an early 10-5 lead in the first set and they never looked back as Bailey Brown was able to stay at the service line for seven straight possessions midway through the set to increase FHU's lead to 12 at the 17-5 mark. The Scots would muster just 13 points in the first set, as the Lady Lions took a comfortable 25-13 set win.

The second set was much of the same for the Lady Lions, as they were able to increase their lead midway through the set despite trailing 3-0 at the start. The Scots were able keep the Lady Lions in check, as they kept FHU within three points at the 12-9 mark.

However, similar to the first set, FHU would find rhythm at the service line, as they out-hit the Scots 10-2 in the final possessions to pull ahead 22-11, which would be enough cushion for the Lady Lions to take a 25-14 second set.

The Lady Lions would continue to dominate the offensive possession in the third set, as they never let the Scots get in range to forge a comeback. FHU led by as many as 12 at the 23-11 mark, which would lead to an eventual 25-15 set win for the match.

With the win, the Lady Lions improve to 8-12 on the season and even up their conference record at 4-4. The Scots fall to 13-12 on the season and 4-5 in AMC play with the loss.

UP NEXT: The Lady Lions are back in action Tuesday, October 25, as they host Martin Methodist (Tenn.) College for a 6:00 PM match-up at the Brewer Sports Center.
