BELLEVILLE, Ill. - The Freed-Hardeman Lady Lion volleyball team's winning streak came to an end Saturday, as they were defeated 3-0 on the road at Lindenwood University-Belleville (25-21, 25-14, 28-26)

Despite the loss, the Lady Lions played tough the entire match, led by Daymari Brito who paced FHU's attack. Lindsey Gordon continued her strong play, as she contributed a majority of the assists in the match while Bailey Brown countered the Lynx attack and led the Lady Lions in defensive digs.

Lindenwood-Belleville (15-11, 7-3 AMC) out-hit FHU (10-13, 5-5 AMC) in the match on their way to the victory in straight-sets.

The Lady Lions fell behind early in the first set, but rebounded nicely, as they were able to close the gap midway through the set to keep things tight the rest of the way. However, the Lynx were able to finish things strong, as they took the first set 25-21.

The Lynx continued to roll in the second set, as FHU fell behind early again and struggled to regroup, as Lindenwood-Belleville took a convincing 25-14 set win to take a 2-0 lead in the match.

The third set went down to the wire, as both teams went back and forth the entire way. However, similar to the first set, the Lynx would find a way to close things out late, as they took a 28-26 third set for the match.

With the loss, the Lady Lions fall to 10-13 on the season and 5-5 in conference play. Lindenwood-Belleville improves to 15-11 on the season and 7-3 in AMC play with the win.

UP NEXT: The Lady Lions continue their road schedule next Thursday, November 3, as they face No. 25 Columbia (Mo.) College. Match time is slated for 7:00 PM at Columbia, Mo.
