HENDERSON, Tenn. - The Freed-Hardeman Lion baseball team held out for the rain to subside Tuesday to pick up a pair of wins over Blue Mountain College, as they cruised to a 9-5 victory in the opening game and followed it up with a 14-3 win in the nightcap.

The Lions (24-16) relied on a variety of relievers to get the job done in the opening game, as they held the Toppers to just nine hits to secure the victory.

FHU also received solid contribution at the plate from a majority of their lineup, led by Bryce Lester, who went 3-for-4 in the opening game. Griffin Siebert, Darcy Moore and Houston Looser also found success at the plate, as each contributed two RBI in the match-up.

The Lions pulled ahead early and never looked back in the opening game, as they pushed three runs across in the bottom of the first and followed it up with four more in the third to break things open at the 7-2 mark.

Despite the Toppers (26-19) fighting back and pushing three across in the top of the fifth, the Lions followed it up with two runs of their own in the bottom half of the inning to secure the 9-5 win.

The Lions continued to roll in the nightcap, as they used a 12-run fifth inning to break things open and cruise to a 14-3 victory.

With the sweep, the Lions move to 24-16 on the season while the Toppers fall to 26-19 with the double header loss.
