HENDERSON, Tenn. - The Freed-Hardeman Lady Lion softball team came up just short Friday afternoon in the AMC Softball Conference Championship, as they suffered a 1-0 loss to Williams Baptist College to end their hopes of a conference title.

Makenzie Prince (10-5) suffered the loss, despite working six solid innings in the circle and allowing just five hits while striking out five. Cat Totty (4-0) picked up the win for Williams Baptist after working two solid innings in the circle to close things out for the Eagles.

The Lions scattered four hits in the game, as four different Lady Lion players contributed a hit in the match-up. Caitlyn Carter, Abbi Gooch, Makenzie Prince and Morgan Warren all reached base in the contest.

As was the case the entire season in FHU's match-up with Williams Baptist, the game went down to the wire. The seventh inning would be the deciding factor in the game, as a wild pitch by Prince would allow Eagles right fielder Molleigh Gray to score the game winning run to put WBC in the AMC Championship Finals.

With the loss, the Lions fall to 24-12 on the season. Williams Baptist improves to 32-10 on the season with the win.
