HANNIBAL, Mo. - The Freed=Hardeman Lady Lion volleyball team picked up their second straight win Saturday, as they took down Hannibal-LaGrange University in straight sets (25-19, 25-11, 25-16).

"Our girls had a complete match today, where all parts of our game were working," said Todd Humphry, head coach for the Lady Lion volleyball team. "I feel we were very prepared for today's match-up and were able to play with a lot of confidence, which is great at this point in the season."

The Lady Lions (6-10, 3-4 AMC) out-hit Hannibal-LaGrange (5-17, 2-4 AMC) 41-18 in the match, as FHU hit .303 compared to the Trojans who hit a staggering -.011 in the match.

Freshman Shea Dean paced the Lady Lion attack and compiled 10 kills while Alex Britt and Claire Walker followed close behind, each with eight kills in the match. Lindsey Gordon set the FHU attackers up nicely and dished out 32 assists while Reilly Fulton countered the Trojan attack well with 14 defensive digs.

The Lady Lions also picked up much needed points on the service line, as they compiled seven service aces, led by Bojana Antunovic, who ended the day with four of FHU's seven aces to keep the Trojans on their heels.

The Maupin sisters provided a majority of the offense for Hannibal-LaGrange, as Claire Maupin led the Trojan attack with nine kills while Shelby Maupin dished out 16 assists in the loss. Hannah Killian and McKenzie Latham did the best they could defending FHU's attack, as each ended the day with eight defensive digs.

With the win, the Lady Lions move to 6-10 on the season and 3-4 in conference play. Hannibal-LaGrange falls to 5-17 on the season and 2-4 in AMC play with the loss.

UP NEXT: The Lady Lions are back in action Tuesday, October 10th, as they make the short trip to former TranSouth rival Bethel University. Match time is slated for 7:00 PM in McKenzie, Tenn.
