HENDERSON, Tenn, - The Freed-Hardeman Lion soccer team got back on track in conference play Tuesday, as they picked up a 5-0 shutout over St. Louis College of Pharmacy at the Josh Riley Soccer Complex.

The Lions dominated the offensive possession from the start, as they attempted 33 shots and 14 shots on goal compared to St. Louis College of Pharmacy who were limited to just one shot and one shot on goal in the match.

The Lions had plenty of offense to go around in the match-up, as five different players contributed goals in the match. Nick Bezold got the scoring drive started for the Lions near the end of the first half, as he fired in a goal in the 42nd minute off an assist by Bret Sveinson to put FHU up 1-0 entering the break.

However, despite the slow start, the Lions would more than make up for it in the second half, as they found the back of the net four times to give them a 5-0 advantage. Four different players scored goals for FHU in the second half including Jose Mauricio Gonzalez (55th minute), Daniel Peinado (74th minute), Roger Gisbert (80th minute) and Jose Andrada (86th minute).

Luke Janiec contributed to the scoring frenzy with an assist to Daniel Peinado in the 74th minute while Enoch Chondol dished out an assist of his own to Jose Andrada in the 86th to complete the scoring drive.

With the win, the Lion move to 2-8 on the season and 1-5 in conference play. St. Louis College of Pharmacy falls to 2-8 on the season and 0-6 in AMC play with the loss.

UP NEXT: The FHU Soccer teams are back in action Saturday, October 14th, as they host conference foe Harris-Stowe State University. The Lady Lions kick things off first at 2:00 PM followed by the men's match at 4:00 PM at the Josh Riley Soccer Complex.
