SCOUTING THE LADY TROJANSTrevecca is enjoying one of the best starts in school history, as the No. 3 Lady Trojans come to Henderson with a record of 18-1 and are unbeaten in conference at 7-0. The team's lone loss came at the hands of Lambuth (Tenn.), 80-62 on Jan. 9 in Jackson. They have yet to play No. 1 Union (Tenn.), who shares the top spot in conference with a 7-0 mark against TranSouth opponents.
TNU relies offensively on three big guns, but only two are expected to be in action tonight. Senior post Jennifer Bognar is having the best year of her career, averaging 16.8 points per game and has further developed her 3-point shot to make her more of a threat. Junior Abby Lawson (14.2 ppg) does a little bit of everything and is among the team leaders in most statistical categories. Three-point specialist K.C. Van Atta (15.0 ppg) is not expected to play tonight due to injury.
LADY LION LOWDOWN- Crossed out: After suffering a hand injury in FHU's win over Mid-Continent last Thursday, initial reports stated that the Jana Cross's season was over. However, better news has surfaced as the injury was not as bad as first thought and that the two-time All-American could return to action in less than two weeks.
- Edney shutting down: After attempting to fight back from a litany of injuries, Kristal Edney will join Cross on the sidelines for the remainder of the season. The junior is expected to apply for a medical redshirt.
- Rockin' the house: Freshman Rakeshia "Rock" Perry is coming off a career night last Thursday against Mid-Continent. She had 21 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, and five steals, all career-highs.
- Who's hot: Junior Tara Deatheridge is averaging 15.5 points and 4.5 steals over the her four games. She needs five 3-pointers to surpass Heather Douglas for ninth all-time in career 3-pointers made.
