Box Score HANNIBAL, Mo. - The Freed-Hardeman Lions took a 1-0 lead into halftime against No. 14 Hannibal-LaGrange (Mo.), but the Trojans netted the equalizer and game-winning goal in the second half to send FHU to a 2-1 loss on Saturday.
FHU (5-2, 1-2) benefitted from an own-goal by HLU in the 30th minute, and held onto that lead until the 63rd minute when Ignacio Garrido knotted the match.
Sixteen minutes later, Manual Saez scored the game-winner. The Lions only got one more shot off for the rest of the match, a strike by Sam Simpson that went high of the frame.
The Trojans (5-1-1, 2-0) held a 17-4 edge in shots and a 5-1 edge in shots on goal. Hunter Yoches stopped three shots in goal for FHU.
The Lions return to action on Tuesday hosting Mid-Continent (Ky.) University at 7:00 PM.
