HENDERSON, Tenn. - The Freed-Hardeman Soccer teams dropped a pair of conference matches Tuesday evening to Missouri Baptist University, as both teams suffered 3-1 losses at the Josh Riley Soccer Complex.

The Lady Lions (5-7-1, 3-6 AMC) kicked things off first and were challenged from the beginning, as Missouri Baptist out-shot FHU 18-6 in the match, which included 13 shots on goal for the Spartans.

Sam Clymer fired in the lone goal for the Lady Lions off a solid assist by Melissa Ross in the 58th minute to give FHU the edge early in the second half. However, despite keeping MBU quiet for a majority of the match, the Spartans fired in three late goals in the final 18 minutes of regulation to send FHU home with the 3-1 loss.

The Spartans (8-4-3, 8-0-2 AMC) were led by three players on the offensive front, as Miranda Pratt, Nicole Talley and Riley Janvrin each recorded goals in the match.

With the loss, the Lady Lions fall to 5-7-1 on the season and 3-6 in conference play. Missouri Baptist improves to 8-4-3 on the season and 8-0-2 in AMC play with the win.

Meanwhile in the men's match, the Lions (4-10, 2-7 AMC) also suffered a 3-1 loss, as the Spartan offense proved to be too much to handle late in the second half. The Spartans (10-4-2, 6-2-1 AMC) took an early lead in the match-up and never looked back, as Jordan Lovell recorded two of MBU's three goals in the match.

Carter Chandler recorded the lone goal for the Lions in the 47th minute to even things up at one apiece at that point in the game; however a pair of late goals by the Spartans in the second half sent FHU home with the loss. The Lions attempted 10 shots and 7 shots on goal compared to Missouri Baptist, who attempted 14 shots and 10 shots on goal in the match.

With the loss, the Lions fall to 4-10 on the season and 2-7 in conference play. The Spartans improve to 10-4-2 on the season and 6-2-1 in AMC play with the win.
