HENDERSON, Tenn. - The Freed-Hardeman Men's Soccer got back on track in conference play Thursday evening, as they picked up a 3-0 shutout over Central Baptist College at the Josh Riley Soccer Complex.

Despite both teams having plenty of chances on the offensive front, the Lions (4-6, 2-4 AMC) made the most of their opportunities, as they used the scoring punch of three players to get the job done.

The Lions attempted 15 shots and six shots on goal in the match compared to Central Baptist College (1-4-2, 1-3-1 AMC) who attempted 14 shots and six shots on goal in the loss.

FHU spread their offense nicely, as six different players attempted shots on frame in the match. Andrij Sawczuk got the scoring drive started for the Lions with a goal in the 14th minute off an assist by Kenneth Ramirez, which was all the Lions needed to take a 1-0 lead entering the break.

The second half provided two more goals for the Lions, as Kenneth Ramirez fired in the first goal in the 50th minute while Carter Chandler found the back of the net in the 87th minute off an assist by Daniel Peinado to give FHU all they needed to secure the 3-0 shutout. Calum Langdale was solid in goal for the Lions, as he posted a clean sheet while saving all six shots he faced.

With the win, the Lions improve to 4-6 on the season and 2-4 in conference play. Central Baptist College falls to 1-4-2 on the season and 1-3-1 in AMC play with the loss.

UP NEXT: The Lions are back in action Saturday, October 6th, as they take on No. 23 Columbia College for a 4:00 PM road match-up in Columbia, Mo.
