ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Lions soccer team (5-7-2, 2-5-2 AMC) fell 2-1 on the road against Missouri Baptist (9-4-2, 4-3-1 AMC) on Saturday afternoon.
Daniel Peinado – the league leader in goals – scored his 15th goal on the season, giving the Lions a 1-0 lead in the 33rd minute.
The Lions would take that lead into halftime, but the Spartans would turn things up offensively in the second half, scoring two goals in the 73rd and 80th minutes. They would hold on to that lead and seize the victory.
Calum Langdale had eight saves in the contest.
The Lions will stay on the road when they take on Central Baptist on Tuesday. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m.
