Late goal lifts Mustangs over Lions

Box Score

Taylor Hodges, Sports Information Director

CONWAY, Ark. – The Lions (5-8-2, 2-6-2 AMC) gave up three second-half goals to fall 3-2 to Central Baptist (5-11-1, 2-8-1 AMC) on Tuesday afternoon.

Daniel Peinado – the AMC's leading scorer in both goals and total points – scored two goal in the second half (59th and and 61st minutes) to put the Lions up 2-0.

The Mustangs, though, would come roaring back, scoring in the 70th minute to make it a 2-1 game with the equalizer coming less than two minutes later. When all things pointed towards the Lions' third draw of the season, Central Baptist put the game-winner in the back of the net with virtually no time left on the clock to earn the win.

The Lions will play their final game of the season when they take on St. Louis College of Pharmacy at home on Saturday at 2 p.m. They will honor their four seniors (Aaron VanRavestein, Peinado, Luke Janiec and Hunter Thompson) as they compete in the final home game of their FHU careers.
