BATESVILLE, Ark. – Four Lady Lions scored in double digits in the massive 59-54 win over American Midwest Conference rival Lyon College (20-4, 16-3 AMC) on Saturday afternoon for their second straight road win.
It was a game that could have huge AMC Tournament seeding implications, as both teams had the same conference record heading into the contest with the Scots beating the Lady Lions (23-2, 17-2 AMC) on January 22, giving the No. 1 team its first loss of the season.
But Haylee Croom and her teammates had different intentions in mind, as she recorded yet another double-double with a game-high 22 points and 12 rebounds.
Lyon held the lead for nearly the entirety of the first period and for most of the second, going up by as many as eight points in the opening 20 minutes of action.
The visitors, though, were able to take the lead with just over five minutes remaining in the first half, and it would keep it until the final buzzer.
The four Lady Lions to score in double digits were the only players on the team to record points in the game.
Sandrea Sylman followed Croom with 16 points and added six rebounds.
Carrie Hatchel added 11 points and five assists, and Reagen Floyd finished the contest with 10 points.
The Lady Lions will finally be back home on Tuesday after a five-game road hiatus when the take on Williams Baptist at 5:30.
