Box Score MARIETTA, Ga. – The Lions soccer team (5-9, 4-8 MSC) fell 2-1 in overtime to Life University (7-7, 6-6 MSC) on Monday in the opening round of the Mid-South Conference Tournament.
The Lions jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead after their leading scoring Kenneth Ramirez scored his 11th goal of the season in the fifth minute, assisted by Roger Castellort.
The Running Eagles leveled the score in the 28th minute before the Lions ended up going down a man after a red card put the Lions a man down just before halftime.
The Lions defense stood its ground throughout the second half, allowing 19 shots by Life, but not surrendering a goal.
The Lions also had their chances in the second period, but the contest would go to overtime, their fifth OT game of the season, which would come to an end after Life was awarded a penalty kick, which they converted, in the 96th minute.
Omer Shifris and Trey Whidden each finished the contest with four saves in the net.
