Lady Lion flag football signs student assistant coach

HENDERSON, Tenn. — Trading the cleats for a clipboard, Chester County High School's Ethan Burks has signed with FHU to serve on Coach Jarred Clayton's sideline as a student assistant coach for the inaugural women's flag football program in the spring of 2027.

A quarterback for the CCHS Eagles, Burks tossed 11 touchdown passes while rushing for an additional nine more. Passing for 976 yards and running for 804, Burks helped lead the Eagles to be the first team in school history to host two playoff games and helped CCHS win their first home playoff game.

A student of the position, Burks trained with Thomas Morris at Quarterback Country for three years.

"I've always wanted to be a coach," said Burks. "I look forward to this opportunity and helping to grow this program in the future."

Coach Clayton said of his new helper, "Ethan is an amazing young man! He is respected by his teammates, classmates, coaches and this community. He has a drive to be a better athlete but more importantly a better Christian than he was the day before. I am excited to have Ethan beside me on the sideline next year coaching and I look forward to what we are building together."
