KANSAS CITY, Mo. — For the third consecutive year, Freed-Hardeman University's athletic program received a perfect 100 score as a Five-Star Champion of Character.

According to the NAIA, "Institutions are measured on a demonstrated commitment to Champions of Character and earn points in character training, conduct in competition, academic focus, character recognition and character promotion. Institutions earned points based on exceptional student-athlete grade point averages and by having minimal to no ejections during competition throughout the course of the academic year." Schools can earn gold, silver, or bronze based on their score.

The NAIA emphasizes the five core values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership.

Joining Freed-Hardeman with perfect scores from the Mid-South Conference were Bethel, Cumberland, Georgetown, and Lindsey Wilson. With all seven members receiving an award, the Mid-South Conference is a Champions of Character Five-Star Conference.
