Five Things to Know:
1. Home Sweet Home
The Lions return to the Josh Riley Soccer Complex Friday for the first time since a 1-1 draw with Blue Mountain Christian on Aug. 25. FHU enters the matchup with a 1-0-3 record after earning three consecutive draws, including Tuesday's 1-1 result at Central Baptist.
2. A Familiar Foe
Friday marks the eighth meeting between Freed-Hardeman and Brescia. The Lions have dominated the all-time series, holding a 5-1-1 record against the Bearcats. FHU has also won the last meeting, a 3-1 victory in Owensboro during the 2025 season.
3. Marko Making His Mark
Marko Ngabirano has emerged as one of the Lions' top offensive threats through the opening four matches. The senior leads FHU with five points on two goals and an assist, including the game-tying goal in Tuesday's draw at Central Baptist.
4. Sharing the Wealth
The Lions have received contributions from throughout the lineup this season. FHU has scored 10 goals through four matches, with nine assists coming from eight different players. Adrian Mann and Ngabirano lead the Lions with two goals apiece, while Noah Setterberg, Martin Theissen and Henry Appiah have each recorded multiple assists.
5. Defense Keeping Them in It
FHU's offense has produced 10 goals, but the Lions' defense has been just as important to their unbeaten start. Gaspar Bourdon has allowed just three goals through four matches while making 11 saves, giving FHU a 0.75 goals-against average. The Lions have also posted a shutout in one of their four matches.
