Box Score COLUMBIA, Ky. — In their first Mid-South Conference meeting of the 2026 season, the Freed-Hardeman University Lions took the pitch against the No. 10 Lindsey Wilson University Blue Raiders. FHU had late chances, but were unable to score the equalizer in a 1-0 loss.
Freed-Hardeman (3-1-3, 0-1-0 MSC) steadied themselves on defense for a majority of the first half, with
Noah Setterberg not getting the Lions' first shot off until 21:18. FHU had a few more offensive opportunities before heavy traffic in the box allowed the hosting Blue Raiders to net the lone goal of the contest at 31:31. In the first half, Freed-Hardeman would take two shots compared to Lindsey Wilson's eight. Both keepers registered a save in the first period.
Henry Appiah helped the Lions out of intermission strong, requiring the Lindsey Wilson (2-2-0, 1-0-0 MSC) keeper to make a save in the 50th minute. Freed-Hardeman began to celebrate a goal in the 80th minute; however, the official's offside flag was raised to erase the possible goal. The Lions showed plenty of fight, rocketing three shots in the final five minutes before the final whistle.
The Lions managed seven shots in the loss, three of which were on goal.
Gaspar Bourdon made three saves to keep FHU in the contest.
