SCOUTING THE LADY BULLDOGS
The Lady Bulldogs, two years removed from an NAIA runner-up finish, are in the midst of a six-game losing streak and have lost nine of their last 10. Points have been hard to come by during the skid, as the team has averaged 58.3 points per game since Dec. 29.

But Cumberland has a lot of speed on the perimeter, and FHU will need to put a stop to dribble penetration. Senior Chaquaila Gaten is the team's leading scorer at 13.3 points per game followed by reserve Tranisha Benton, who averages 11.2 points per contest. Freshmen Brittany Cash and Simone Ryan have both contributed this year. Ryan leads the Lady Bulldogs in rebounding (6.9 rpg) while Cash has made 26 3-pointers and is scoring 8.0 points per game.

LADY LION LOWDOWN
  • Crossed out: After suffering a hand injury in FHU's win over Mid-Continent last Thursday, initial reports stated that the Jana Cross's season was over. However, better news has surfaced as the injury was not as bad as first thought and that the two-time All-American could return to action in less than two weeks.
  • Edney shutting down: After attempting to fight back from a litany of injuries, Kristal Edney will be sidelined for the remainder of the season. The junior is expected to apply for a medical redshirt.
  • Career night: Meribeth Boehler had a huge night in FHU's upset of No. 3 Trevecca on Thursday. The sophmore recorded career highs in points (22) and rebounds (13), more than making up for the absence of Cross.
  • New year resolution: As it has been for the last several years, January has been good to the Lady Lions who are 6-1 in the first month of the new year. Since 2000, FHU is 70-13 in the month of January, a winning percentage of 84.3 percent.
