SCOUTING THE REDHAWKS
Martin Methodist enters tonight's game just outside the NAIA Top 25. The RedHawks have been dominant on the boards, leading the nation with a rebounding margin of +18 and ranking sixth in total rebounds per game.
Much of that rebounding comes from Will Shackleford, a 6-foot-5, 275 pound junior who is averaging 14.9 points and 12.7 rebounds per contest. He's also among to top players in the NAIA in offensive rebounds with 113. Senior Julius Virgo provides MMC with another weapon in the paint, averaging 10.1 points per game while shooting 64.6 percent from the field.
The RedHawks' biggest threat in the backcourt is Aubre Bodison, who is averaging a team-leading 15.5 points per game. The junior has connected on 54 shots from 3-point range.
LION LOWDOWN- Balanced attack: The Lions are the only team in the TranSouth Conference to have four players in the conference's top 20 scorers: Zack Frey (7th), Jesse Moulton (13th), Kristoffer Smith (15th), and Shun Trevillian (20th).
- On the rise: Kristoffer Smith is now 13th in career scoring at FHU with 1,462 points. He needs 36 points to move into 12th on the list. Zack Frey, who joined the 1,000 point club in January, is currently 22nd.
- On the rise, too: The Lions moved up three spots to No. 10 in the latest NAIA national ranking, marking the first time FHU has been in the top 10 since Feb. 11, 2003.
- Still streaking: FHU has won 12 straight games dating back to Dec. 12, 2008, and is three wins away from tying the program's longest streak of 15 games set in 2001-02.
