SCOUTING THE EAGLES
Lambuth (13-7) plays ball like it always has under head coach Kevin Burton: with aggressive defense and an up-tempo style of play. While not enjoying the dominance of recent years, the Eagles - who welcomed 12 new players to the roster this year - are still receiving votes in the NAIA national poll and have the talent to play with anyone in the country.
On both ends, Lambuth looks to senior guard Antwan Coby to lead the way. The 5-foot-8 guard leads the team in scoring (13.9 ppg), assists (3.8 apg), and steals (1.8 spg). Coby's quickness allows him to break defenses down via dribble penetration, something the Lions will have to contain.
LION LOWDOWN- Player of the week: On Monday, Zack Frey was named the TSAC Player of the Week for the second time this season. The junior averaged 18 points per game in the Lions' two wins. It's the second time he has won the award this year.
- Climbing the ranks: The Lions jumped up seven spots to No. 13 in the latest NAIA Top 25 released on Monday.
- Still streaking...: Saturday's win over Cumberland was FHU's 10th in a row. During the streak, the Lions are allowing an average of 64.7 points per game. It is the program's longest winning streak since the 2001-02 season when the Lions won 15 in a row.
- ...but looking to end another streak: Lambuth has been a thorn in FHU's side in recent years, having won 11 straight contests including a 76-71 decision earlier this season. The Lions haven't beaten the Eagles since an 88-80 overtime win on Dec. 2, 2002.
