Box Score 2 MCKENZIE, Tenn. - If there needed to be any proof that the TranSouth Conference was getting stronger, it came on Thursday night.
Bethel (Tenn.) University, a rising program in the conference, handed the Freed-Hardeman Lady Lions their first regular season conference loss in nearly two years in the form of a 3-0 sweep in Dishman Gymnasium.
The Lady Wildcats took the first game, 25-14, and kept enough momentum to hold off FHU in the next two games, 25-21 and 25-23.
Sydney Rice and
Nataly Gutierrez each had 10 kills for Freed-Hardeman. Rice also tallied four total blocks.
FHU (0-2, 0-1) heads to the Rhodes College Invitational on Sept. 11-12 in Memphis, Tenn.
