Lady Lions back on track with sweep of Mid-Continent

Box Score MAYFIELD, Ky. - The Freed-Hardeman Lady Lions snapped a two-game conference losing streak with a three-set win over Mid-Continent (Ky.) University on Monday night at the Cougar Center.

The win improved the Lady Lions to 6-6 overall and 5-2 in conference play, putting them in third place at a half-game behind tomorrow's opponent, Cumberland (Tenn.) University.

FHU once again showcased its balanced attack that helped the Lady Lions to a 4-0 start in conference play, winning by the scores of 25-8, 25-21 and 25-14. Six players recorded multiple kills in the match, led by Sydney Rice's nine on 19 attempts. Sandra Montoya followed with eight kills while Fernanda Ferreira added seven and Rachelle Prince added six.

Amber Turner and Renata Ferreira each assisted on 16 kills, while Montoya led the defense with 17 digs.

Freed-Hardeman hosts Cumberland at 7:00 PM on Tuesday.
