Lions close first half strong, down AUM

Box Score MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The No. 23 Freed-Hardeman Lions went on a 22-3 run over the last 6:30 of the first half on their was to a 70-50 road win over Auburn University at Montgomery on Friday night.

Of the 22 points in that key run, FHU (4-3) got seven second-chance points and nine points off of turnovers.

Kyle Teichmann scored seven of his 13 points during that stretch while the Lions forced six turnovers - including three steals by Anthony Sampson that directly led to points for FHU.

AUM battled back early in the second half, opening on a 10-2 run to pull back within 11 points. But Ken Bingham - after going scoreless in the first half - made sure that the Senators would get no closer.

In addition to Teichmann and Bingham, Brian Pearson came off the bench to score a career-high 13 points for Freed-Hardeman. Sampson added 11, all of which came in the first half.

The Lions complete the two-game road trip tomorrow against Faulkner (Ala.) University at 7:30.
