HENDERSON, Tenn. - Although she has been a two-time NAIA All-American, Freed-Hardeman senior Fernanda Ferreira has been edged out of the TranSouth Conference Player of the Year award for the last two years.
This year, she finally received the honor.
FHU took home two of the four superlative awards with Ferreira being named player of the year and Allie Moss being chosen as the freshman of the year. Ferreira and Moss were joined on the all-conference team by Renata Ferreira and Callie West.
Ferreira led the conference in kills per set at 4.5, nearly one per set higher than the next player in the rankings. She was also second in attack percentage at .252. Moss was fourth in kills (3.5 per set) and second in attack percentage along with Ferreira.
Renata Ferreira led the conference in assists at 8.1 per set and was second in service aces at 0.5 per set. West was second in digs (4.2 per set ) and fifth in service aces (0.3 per set).
