Box Score HENDERSON, Tenn. - For the second time this season, Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) Lady Lion freshman Taleeah Cross has been named the American Midwest Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week.
Cross, who also won the award on Nov. 25, helped lead the No. 3 Lady Lions to a pair of wins during the week including a 86-79 road win over No. 10 Bethel (Tenn.) University. In the win at Bethel, she scored a game-high 21 points and added five rebounds, four assists and three steals. She followed with 16 points and five steals in an 86-63 win over Faulkner (Ala.) University in just 25 minutes of action. She shot 12-of-18 from the field for the week and 12-of-15 from the free throw line.
Through nine games, Cross is averaging 17.0 points per game which is the best scoring average among freshmen in the NAIA.
This marks the fourth time this season that an FHU player has received the conference honor.
