HENDERSON, Tenn. - The Freed-Hardeman Lady Lion basketball team opened its 2013-14 recruiting class with the recent signing of Morgan Willoughby of Savannah, Tenn.
Willoughby, a 5-9 guard, is currently in her senior season at Hardin Co. HS where she has been a two-year starter and was named to the all-district and all-district tournament team as a junior. At the time of her signing, she was averaging 13.1 points per game and was leading her team in 3-point shooting.
One of her high school assistant coaches, Meredith McLemore, played for FHU from 2006-2009 and was a starter on the Lady Lions' NAIA Fab Four team in 2009.
"Morgan's ability to shoot the three gives us an additional and much needed outside threat," said FHU head coach Dale Neal. "She has a great work ethic and has worked hard to improve her quickness as well as her overall game. Her attitude and court demeanor in a natural fit for our program. We are glad she has elected to join our team."
Morgan is the daughter of Greg and Jill Willoughby.
