Lions climb to No. 17 in latest NAIA national ratings

Box Score

KANSAS CITY - The Freed-Hardeman Lion baseball team climbed one spot to No. 17 in the fourth regular season NAIA Top 25 Coaches Poll released on Tuesday, April 16.

FHU (35-6-1) went a perfect 5-0 on the week with a three-game conference sweep of Blue Mountain (Miss.) College and a win over No. 12 Cumberland (Tenn.) University. The Lions are nine wins away from tying the program record for most wins in a season.

Freed-Hardeman, which is 5-1 in conference play, has a key series upcoming against Bethel (Tenn.) University this weekend. The Wildcats are 9-0 in conference, which means FHU needs to win at least two of three games over the weekend before its conference schedule finale with Martin Methodist (Tenn.) next week.

The Lions have placed in the top 25 of every poll thus far this season.
