Box Score ST. LOUIS - The Freed-Hardeman Lady Lions suffered their first loss in American Midwest Conference play, falling 3-0 to No. 18 Missouri Baptist University on Friday night (25-20, 25-18, 25-14).
The Spartans (13-1, 4-0) gave FHU problems at the net with their size, resulting in nine team blocks and 20 attack errors for the Lady Lions, who hit a season-low .011 in the match and tallied just 21 kills.
Meanwhile, MBU got seven or more kills from five players, led by Taylor Cook's 13, for a total of 44.
Kara England paced the Freed-Hardeman attack with seven kills while Daymari Brito had six.
FHU returns to action on Saturday at Harris-Stowe State (Mo.) University for a 1:00 PM match.
