Box Score KANSAS CITY - The Freed-Hardeman Lady Lions stayed in their No. 2 spot in the latest NAIA Division I Women's Basketball Ratings released on Jan. 14, but managed to take a first-place vote in the regular season's third poll.
FHU (14-0) remains one of two unbeaten teams in the NAIA along with No. 1 Vanguard (Calif.) University which is 11-0. The Lions had garnered all 10 of the first-place votes last week, but this week Freed-Hardeman took one of those 10.
The Lady Lions have been ranked in the top three in 15 of the last 16 polls, with the lone exception coming in this year's preseason poll where FHU was No. 6. Freed-Hardeman has also been ranked in 169 consecutive polls.
There was no movement among the top five teams from last week and little movement in the top 10. American Midwest Conference member Columbia (Mo.) College moved up two spots to No. 17 to set up its matchup at Freed-Hardeman on Saturday. William Woods (Mo.) University dropped out of the top 25 after a pair of conference losses.
Freed-Hardeman is 5-0 against teams ranked in this week's poll.
