Box Score HENDERSON, Tenn. - The Freed-Hardeman Lady Lions will look to complete a season sweep of former conference rival Martin Methodist (Tenn.) College tonight as they travel to Pulaski, Tenn., for a 7:00 PM match.
SETTING THE STAGE
The Lady Lions (8-9) look to pull their season record back to .500 against a RedHawks (6-10) team who will attempt to win consecutive matches for the second time this season. However, FHU will be without the services of leading attacker Allie Moss tonight as she returned home for the night after a death in her family.
LAST TIME THEY MET
Allie Moss tied a career-high with 28 kills to lead the Lady Lions to a 3-1 win over the RedHawks in Henderson on Sept. 30, 2014. Kiyla Glasper added 11 kills and Amanda Cunningham had six blocks.
WHAT TO WATCH
- With Moss out of the lineup, look for Kiyla Glasper and Kara England to set a lot more sets. Glasper (2.1 kills/set) and England (1.9 kills/set) have been good compliments to Moss this season, but tonight will get the chance to be primary options in the attack.
- FHU hit .254 against Martin Methodist in the first meeting, one of its more efficient outings of the season.
- The RedHawks had big nights from Rosmerli Carrillo (17 kills, .349 hitting percentage) and Genesis Mejias (15 kills, .367 hitting) in the first meeting between the two schools. FHU will need to focus its blocking on those two players to make putting kills away a more difficult task.
- FHU follows tonight's match with its last two home matches of the season later this week. A win tonight would help set the tone for a good week.
BY THE NUMBERS
