HENDERSON, Tenn. - After leading Freed-Hardeman to a pair of wins to open the season in his debut in a Lion uniform, Evan Forhetz has been named the American Midwest Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week.

Forhetz, a 5-foot-10 junior guard from Nashville, Tenn., was at his best late in games last week as FHU won at No. 5 Talladega (Ala.) and at home over Crowley's Ridge (Ark.). He made two 3-pointers in the final 2:30 in a 71-67 win over Talladega, then scored 13 points in the final 8:30 in an 89-78 win over CRC.

He had impressive numbers across the board last week, averaging 20.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, 8.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game. He scored 23 points and handed out 11 assists against Crowley's Ridge and had 17 points, seven rebounds and six assists in the upset win over Talladega.
