MEN'S BASKETBALL GAMEDAY: No. 5 Talladega vs. FHU

HENDERSON, Tenn. - The Freed-Hardeman Lions will put their unbeaten record on the line tonight against the No. 5-ranked team in the NAIA as FHU hosts Talladega (Ala.) College tonight at 7:00 PM.

SETTING THE STAGE
FHU (6-0) has continued rolling, coming off a 95-94 double-overtime win over Bethel (Tenn.) last Monday in a non-conference contest. Talladega (8-3) has won three straight and four of its last five, including a 67-55 win over NAIA D-II No. 19 Cincinnati Christian.

LAST TIME THEY MET
Evan Forhetz hit two late 3-pointers to help lift the Lions to a 71-67 road win over the Tornadoes on Nov. 11, 2014. Forhetz led a group of four Lions in double figures with 17 points. Ben Meis had 15, Cameron Lewis had 14 and Trevor Randolph had 12 in the win.

DOUBLE OVERTIME THRILLER
The Lions stayed unbeaten with a 95-94 double-overtime win over Bethel (Tenn.) University last Monday. Evan Forhetz made two free throws with :1.4 left in the second overtime to lift FHU to the victory. The game marked FHU's first double-overtime contest since Nov. 23, 2009, when the Lion won at Lee (Tenn.), 90-86. FHU had dropped its last three overtime decisions before the win.

SIX STRAIGHT
FHU has opened the season with six straight wins for the second year in a row. Last year, the Lions won 17 straight and climbed to the No. 1 spot in the NAIA coaches poll.

STRONG SHOOTING
Freed-Hardeman continues to shoot the ball very efficiently, ranking 11th in the NAIA in field goal percentage (49.6) and 13th in 3-point percentage (39.5). The Lions also rank 20th in scoring average at 84.0 points per game. Like FHU, Talladega is an efficient team from the field. The Tornadoes are shooting 50.3 percent from the floor and 37.8 percent from 3-point range.

FORHETZ CHECK
Evan Forhetz ranks in the top 10 nationally in four statistical categories : first in assists (7.2 per game), fourth in 3-point percentage (61.1 percent), seventh in steals (2.8 per game) and 10th in total assists (43).

MISSING STEWART
The Tornadoes have been without Shondel Stewart for the last six games. Stewart averaged 32.0 points per game in the team's first three games, all of which were wins. Brandon Peters has picked up the slack in his absence, averaging 21.1 points per game.

TOUGH WEEK AHEAD
The Lions have a busy week with three games, two of which are against top-10 teams. After tonight's game, FHU faces Park (Mo.) on Thursday and No. 7 Columbia (Mo.) on Saturday. Park is also receiving votes in the national rankings.
