Lions drop two spots to No. 5 in latest national rankings

Box Score

KANSAS CITY - After losing their second game of the season, the Freed-Hardeman Lions fell two spots to No. 5 in the latest NAIA Division I Men's Basketball Coaches Poll released on Tuesday, Feb. 18.

FHU (22-2, 15-0) went 2-1 on the week but suffered a loss at Lindenwood-Belleville (Ill.), 83-81, missing a chance to get off the last shot of regulation.

This week, the Lions face an important three-game stretch that includes trips to Park (Mo.), who gave FHU a tough game in Henderson, and No. 7 Columbia (Mo.) in a game that could determine the regular season champion of the American Midwest Conference.

Cal State-San Marcos remained in the No. 1 spot following by Pikeville (Ky.) at No. 2. Lindenwood-Bellevlle, the only team to beat FHU thus far, just missed climbing into the top 25.
