SETTING THE STAGE
FHU (17-1, 12-0) hit the halfway point of conference play with a two-game lead over Lyon (Ark.) College while Harris-Stowe (7-10, 6-7) is in a battle for position in the middle of the conference standings, a half-game out of fifth place entering tonight's game.

LAST TIME THEY MET
Grace Alonso de Armino had 15 points and 22 rebounds while Hayley Newby had 15 points and 12 rebounds as FHU pulled away in the second half for a 77-46 win on Nov. 20 in St. Louis. Both teams shot the ball poorly (37.8 percent for FHU, 34.5 percent for HSSU) but the Lady Lions forced 28 turnovers and grabbed 26 offensive rebounds.

INSIDE THE SERIES
FHU leads the all-time series, 8-0, although there have been a couple of close calls. Last year, FHU held on late for a 77-70 win at Harris-Stowe. In 2007, the Lady Lions had to rally late for a 67-63 win at home over a Hornet team that eventually advanced to the Sweet 16 of the national tournament.

MILLENIUM WOMAN
On Saturday, Grace Alonso de Armino became the fifth player in program history to reach 1000 career rebounds joining Qiana Elam (1529), Jennifer Burkeen-Showers (1163), Maria Bagwell (1066) and Leah Holcomb (1055). At her current pace, she will finish her career ranking second all-time in rebounding at FHU. She also surpassed 1000 career points earlier this season.

TOPPING THE CHARTS
FHU held its position at No. 1 in the NAIA national rankings this week for the fourth straight poll. It marked the 11th all-time No. 1 ranking for Freed-Hardeman, making it one of five in the history of the NAIA to achieve 10 or more top rankings. All 11 of the program's No. 1 rankings have come since 2012.

10 IN THE TOP 10
The Lady Lions rank in the top 10 in the NAIA in 10 statistical categories. The top three categories all involving rebounding: FHU leads the nation in offensive rebounding (19.5 per game), is second in rebounding margin (+14.5) and third in rebounds allowed per game (31.6). The Lady Lions also rank fourth in scoring margin (+26.8), fifth in scoring defense (55.6) and sixth in scoring offense (82.3).

LEADING THE NATION
Grace Alonso de Armino continues to lead the nation in rebounding, averaging 14.0 rebounds per game. She also leads the NAIA in double-doubles with 14 in 17 games and in offensive rebounding, averaging 6.3 per contest.

FIFTH OPTION
Junior guard Brandee Busenlehner has given FHU an additional scoring option lately. In her last five games, she is averaging 13.8 points per game while shooting 51.4 percent from 3-point range. She currently ranks 11th in the NAIA in 3-point shooting at 44.2 percent for the season.

TURNING THEM OVER
Freed-Hardeman forced Lindenwood-Belleville (Ill.) into 32 turnovers in Saturday's 77-46 win in Henderson. It was the second-highest number of turnovers forced this season by FHU, although the Lady Lions also tied their season-worst in the game with 20 turnovers of their own.

SCOUTING THE HORNETS
Harris-Stowe has dropped three straight games coming into today's contest, but still can be a dangerous team as proven by road wins this season over William Woods (Mo.) and Lindenwood-Belleville. The Hornets have not been able to utilize a consistent roster all season, but they appear to be at full strength coming into today's matchup. Newcomer Mia Wesley has emerged as a scoring threat, averaging 18.9 points per game in 11 games. She did not play in the first game between the two schools in November.
