SETTING THE STAGE
FHU (22-2, 17-1) moved one game closer to clinching its first-ever regular season conference title on Thursday with an 84-64 win over Benedictine-Springfield (Ill.), giving the Lions a 2.5-game lead in the standings with four games to play (the three teams behind FHU in the standings have five left). Hannibal-LaGrange (6-16, 6-11) is trying to work its way up the standings as the season winds down, currently sitting in ninth but just a half-game out of eighth.

LAST TIME THEY MET
The Lions jumped ahead early behind hot perimeter shooting, knocking down 11 3-pointers in the first half to build a 52-29 lead at the break on their way to an 86-59 win on Jan. 3. Ben Meis led the way with 20 points while Cameron Lewis had 19 and Evan Forhetz added 17.

INSIDE THE SERIES
FHU's win in January pushed the Lions ahead in the all-time series, 5-4. The Trojans' last win over FHU came on Nov. 29, 1998, by the score of 78-73.

STRETCH RUN
The Lions have four regular season games remaining, two home games sandwiched around a pair of road contests. A win today would mean FHU needs to win only one of its last three in order to clinch home court advantage during the conference tournament. Three wins in their last four would giv the Lions their first-ever regular season conference title.

MOVIN' ON UP
Freed-Hardeman moved up one spot to No. 3 in this week's NAIA Coaches Poll, the highest ranking for the program since the Feb. 11 poll in 2014 where the Lions were also ranked No. 3. FHU has been ranked in the top 10 in 17 of the last 18 ratings.

NEARING 200
Tenth-year head coach Jason Shelton is closing in on his 200th career win, entering today's game with a record of 194-126. The Lions have won 20 or more games in seven of the last eight years under Shelton; before his arrival, FHU had only posted six 20-win seasons since 1974-75. His winning percentage of .607 is by far the highest of any men's coach in Freed-Hardeman history.

INSIDE IMPACT
Isaiah Harrison has given the Lions a boost in the frontcourt since rejoining the team in early January. The 6-foot-8 junior is averaging 10.5 points and 8.4 rebounds per game in 11 contests with three double-doubles while shooting 59.7 percent from the floor. Along with senior post Vincent Dotson (75.9 percent), FHU has proven to be very efficient on its shooting in the frontcourt.

SCOUTING THE TROJANS
Scoring points this season has proven to be a bit of an issue for the Trojans, who average just 55.5 points per game. Jay Jones provides the majority of the team's offense with 14.2 points per game and shooting 36.2 percent from 3-point range. Hannibal has also struggled with turnovers this season, coughing it up 17.1 times per game with a minus-3.8 turnover margin.
