SETTING THE STAGE
Two years ago, neither team was a member of the American Midwest Conference. Now they are playing for the conference championship. No. 4 Freed-Hardeman (27-3) took the regular season title and will host the tournament championship for the first time. Lindenwood-Belleville (21-11) looks to win the title in its first year in the league. The Lynx already pulled off on upset to get here, knocking off No. 12 Columbia (Mo.) on the road, 71-69, in the semifinals. The Lions held off Williams Baptist (Ark.) in the other semifinal to reach their sixth conference championship game.

LAST TIME THEY MET
An inspired effort from the Lynx on senior day proved too much for FHU to handle, as Lindenwood-Belleville scored an 89-83 win over then-No. 2 FHU in Belleville, Ill. Five Lynx scored in double-figures led by 27 from Craig Anderson. The Lions shot a season-worst 17.4 percent from 3-point range in the game.

INSIDE THE SERIES
The two teams met for the first time last year, and it's quickly become an intense series. The Lynx have won three of the four meetings, including a buzzer-beating win in Henderson last year to end FHU's 19-game winning streak. The Lions won big at home in January, 81-58.

LOOKING FOR THEIR FIRST
Both teams enter the night looking for their first-ever conference tournament championship. The Lions have been to five championship games, all under 10th year head coach Jason Shelton, but are 0-5 in those games. The last three trips have come down to the final possession of regulation - one time losing on a last-second shot (2011), missing a last-second shot to win (2013) and failing to get a shot off with the game tied at the end of regulation (2014). The Lynx are playing in their first-ever championship game.

GOING FOR 200
A win tonight would give Coach Jason Shelton his 200th at Freed-Hardeman. He would be only the second coach in the history of the program to reach 200 wins, joining current Athletic Director Mike McCutchen. Shelton has the highest winning percentage in program history at 61.0 percent (199-127).

DROPPING DIMES
Evan Forhetz continues to lead the NAIA in assists per game averaging 6.7 coming into tonight's contest. On Saturday, he reached 200 assists on the season making him the first player since Anthony Sampson in 2012 to hit the 200 mark. He is one of just six players in the history of the program have handed out 200 assists in a season and only one - Chike Stevenson - did it twice.

WINS RECORD IN SIGHT
Last year's Lion team set the program record for wins in a season with 29, but this year's team has a chance to equal or better it with a strong finish to the year. FHU's chase was damaged slightly by only being able to secure 28 regular-season games instead of the allowed 30.

KANSAS CITY, HERE WE COME
With the regular season championship, the Lions secured an automatic bid to the NAIA National Tournament in Kansas City, Mo., on March 18-24. It marks FHU's second straight bid - the first time in program history that the team will make consecutive trips - and the third in the last five years. Lindenwood-Belleville needs a win to ensure its second-straight trip to the national tournament, although an at-large bid may not be out of the question with a strong showing tonight.

TOP SCORER SHOWDOWN
Tonight's game will feature the top two scorers in the American Midwest Conference in Lindenwood-Belleville's Craig Anderson (20.1 ppg) and FHU's Cameron Lewis (17.8 ppg). Both teams also ranked first and second in the conference in scoring, the Lynx with 81.2 points per game and the Lions with 79.9 points per game. FHU did hold LU-B to its lowest scoring output of the season (58) in the first meeting in Henderson this year.

SWAT TEAM
The Lions are among the nation's best in shot-blocking, ranking fourth in blocks per game with 4.6 and seventh in total blocks with 138. Vincent Dotson is the team's main shot-changer on the inside, averaging 1.7 blocks per game. Isaiah Harrison also averages 1.3 blocks per game.
