SETTING THE STAGE
The Lions (25-3) are the top seed in the conference tournament for the first time in school history and open play in the quarterfinals against eight-seed William Woods (12-19), who won its first-round game over Hannibal-LaGrange (Mo.), 67-62. D.J. Johnson had a big day for the Owls with 23 points on 10-of-14 shooting.

LAST TIME THEY MET
FHU had an off night from 3-point range, but pounded the ball inside on its way to a 78-62 win over William Woods on Feb. 7 in Henderson. Cameron Lewis scored a game-high 20 points while Isaiah Harrison had 18 and Vincent Dotson added 10. Harrison and Dotson combined to go 13-of-17 from the field.

INSIDE THE SERIES
FHU swept both regular season contests this year and now leads the all-time series, 4-0. This will be the first postseason meeting between the schools.

STREAK BROKEN
The Lions saw their 13-game winning streak broken in the regular season finale on Saturday with an 89-83 loss at Lindenwood-Belleville (Ill.). It was the second-longest winning streak under head coach Jason Shelton. Percentage-wise, the Lions had their worst game of the season from 3-point range making just 4-of-23 for 17.4 percent.

ROAD TO 200
FHU head coach Jason Shelton is closing in on his 200th career win, entering tonight's game with 197 in his 10 years at Freed-Hardeman. His career winning percentage of .607 is the best in men's program history. He would be only the second coach in Lion history to reach 200 career wins.

WINS RECORD IN SIGHT
Last year's Lion team set the program record for wins in a season with 29, but this year's team has a chance to equal or better it with a strong finish to the year. FHU's chase was damaged slightly by only being able to secure 28 regular-season games instead of the allowed 30.

KANSAS CITY, HERE WE COME
With the regular season championship, the Lions secured an automatic bid to the NAIA National Tournament in Kansas City, Mo., on March 18-24. It marks FHU's second straight bid - the first time in program history that the team will make consecutive trips - and the third in the last five years.

CONFERENCE LEADERS
With the regular season in the books, FHU had several players among the leaders in conference in various statistical categories. Cameron Lewis (17.9 ppg) was second in scoring; Vincent Dotson was third in rebounding (7.8 rpg) and first in blocks (1.7); Evan Forhetz was first in assists (6.6) and fourth in steals (1.9); and Ben Meis was second in 3-pointers made (86).
