William Woods would also lead by as many as six in the half at the 30-24 mark with 8:58 remaining before Austin Dempsey and Trevor Randolph would both connect on a three ball to even things up at 30 apiece with 7:28 remaining. Both teams would continue to battle back and forth to finish the half tied 51-51.

The second half would be much of the same for both teams as they continued to battle it out and match each other point for point. However, FHU would get a chance to create some separation with 8:18 remaining in the game by using a 7-0 scoring run to take their largest lead of the game at the 73-65 mark. The Lions would continue to extend their lead following the 7-0 run as they out-shot the Owls 21-19 to finish the game with a near-double digit lead.
