SETTING THE STAGE

FHU (22-6, 18-4 AMC) enters tonight's match-up coming off a solid 73-50 victory over William Woods (Mo.) University (14-8, 19-9 AMC) on Saturday. FHU came out firing to start the game as they out-shot William Woods 8-2 in the first four minutes of the contest to make an early statement. Things would continue to click for the Lady Lions as they out-shot the Owls 23-12 in the quarter after going 50 percent from the field, led by Crowell who had all 12 of her points in the first quarter alone.

FHU would continue their hot shooting in the second quarter as they out-shot the Owls 14-12 to reach their largest lead of the half at the 31-17 mark with 6:28 remaining in the half. Taleeah Cross led the Lady Lions in the half with 13 points as FHU held the Owls to just 24 points to enter the break with a 37-24 advantage.

The Lady Lions would continue to have success on the offensive end in the second half as they opened the third quarter with a 6-0 run to extend their lead to 17 at the 43-26 mark with 6:55 remaining. The Lady Lions would use a 45.8 percent shooting performance in the quarter to reach their largest lead of the game at the 57-39 mark entering the final quarter of play.

FHU would leave little chance of a WWU comeback in the fourth quarter as they out-shot the Owls 16-11 to lead by as many as 24 at the 71-47 mark with 3:16 remaining in the game. The Lady Lions would finish the game up 23 as they cruised to a 73-50 victory.
