HENDERSON, Tenn. - The No. 11 Freed-Hardeman Lady Lion basketball team will look to pick up their seventh straight win tonight as they host Stephens (Mo.) College in a 5:30 PM matchup at the Brewer Sports Center.

SETTING THE STAGE

FHU (16-5, 12-3 AMC) enters tonight's matchup coming off a convincing 88-32 win over Hannibal-LaGrange (Mo.) University (7-14, 6-10 AMC) on Saturday, January 30. The Lady Lions pulled away early and never looked back as a pair of 17-point performances by Taleeah Cross and Carrie Hatchel led FHU to their sixteenth victory of the season.

Three other players reached double figures in the matchup to go along with Cross and Hatchel's 17 points including Sandrea Sylman, who finished with 11 points while Kenley Crowell and Haley Smith each had 10.

The Lady Lions dominated the glass in the matchup as they out-rebounded the Trojans 52-19, led by Kim Mallory and Tiffany Pate, who each had 11 rebounds in the contest. FHU also found success on the defensive side of the floor as they forced an impressive 14 turnovers and had nine steals, led by Cross with five.

FHU shot an impressive 48.6 percent from the field in the game, including a 54.3 percent shooting performance in the second half, to keep a comfortable lead the entire game. Hannibal-LaGrange shot just 20 percent in the matchup and was only allowed two three-point field goal attempts the entire game, which they were not able to convert. FHU would lead by as many as 57 in the game as they cruised to an 88-32 victory for their sixteenth win of the season and twelfth in conference play.

SCOUTING THE STARS

Stephens College (5-17, 3-13 AMC) enters tonight's matchup coming off a 61-57 loss to Central Baptist (Ark.) College (8-14, 4-12 AMC) on Saturday, January 30 to suffer their 17th loss of the season.

The Stars are led by Senior forward Dana Heggemann, who averages 11.55 points per game and has shot 44.6 percent from the field so far this season. Freshman Bailey Taylor leads the team on the glass as she averages 5.33 rebounds per game. Taylor also leads the team in assists with 2.29 assists per game.

As a team, Stephens College averages 55.3 points per game and have shot 35.5 percent from the field and 29.1 percent from behind the arc while averaging 33.5 rebounds per game, led by Taylor.

Tonight marks the sixth meeting between FHU and Stephens College. The last time the two schools met was earlier this season on December 17, 2015 , where the Lady Lions came away with a convincing 76-40 victory on the road in Columbia, Mo.
