Lions Roll To 98-66 Victory Over Crowley's Ridge

HENDERSON, Tenn. - The Freed-Hardeman Lion basketball team picked up their fourth win of the season Thursday night, as they rolled to a 98-66 victory over Crowley's Ridge College at the Brewer Sports Center.

James Davis led the way for Freed-Hardeman, as he poured in 25 points, including a 7-for-10 shooting night from the field. Davis also found success from three-point range, as he went 3-for-6 from behind the arc while knocking down 8-of-9 free throws from the charity stripe.

Marcus Baldwin followed close behind for the Lions, as he reached double digits for the 11th time this season and ended the night with 18 points. Kortland Martin and Shamir Rolle also reached double digits for the Lions, as Martin fired in 15 points while Rolle nearly recorded a triple-double with 12 points, 16 rebounds and seven blocks in the win.

FHU (4-8) shot an impressive 45 percent from the field in the game compared to Crowley's Ridge College (1-14), who shot 35 percent from the field and 39 percent from behind the arc. FHU made things difficult on the Pioneers throughout the game as they forced 22 turnovers and snagged 13 steals.

Hunter Turner led Crowley's Ridge on the offensive end with 24 points after going 7-for-11 from behind the arc. Chris Bernard was the only other Pioneer player to reach double digits in the match-up, as he contributed 11 points in the loss.

The Lions dominated the offensive possession from the opening tip as they out-shot Crowley's Ridge 49-25 in the first half, which included limiting the Pioneers to just 8-for-29 shooting from the field and 3-for-7 shooting from behind the arc.

FHU continued to pile it on in the second half as they reached their largest lead of the game at the 72-34 mark with 11 minutes remaining in regulation on their way to a 98-66 victory.

With the win, the Lions move to 4-8 on the season. Crowley's Ridge College falls to 1-14 on the season with the loss.
