FHU Volleyball Falls 3-0 At Missouri Baptist

HENDERSON, Tenn. - The Freed-Hardeman Lady Lion volleyball team suffered their second conference loss of the season Friday at the hands of No. 10 Missouri Baptist University, as the Spartans defeated the Lady Lions in straight sets (25-18, 25-19, 25-21).

With the loss the Lady Lions fall to 2-8 on the season and 1-2 in conference play. With the win, Missouri Baptist University improves to 16-3 on the season and remains undefeated in conference play at 3-0.

Despite the loss, the Lady Lions held their own in each of the three sets, as several players contributed solid minutes including Bojana Antunovic, who led FHU on the attack with nine kills. Alex Britt and Claire Walker followed close behind, each with six kills while Lindsey Gordon dished out 26 assists in the loss. Libero Reilly Fulton countered MBU's attack with 11 digs.

Marion Couraud led MBU on the attack with 15 kills while Ana Oliveira dished out all 20 assists for the Spartans in the win. Rachel Luebbers countered FHU's attack well with seven digs. The Spartans accumulated 38 kills and hit .192 in the match compared to the Lady Lions who hit just .040 in the match with 30 kills.

UP NEXT: The Lady Lions continue their weekend road schedule Saturday, as they face Harris Stowe State (Mo.) University for a 1:00 PM match-up in St. Louis, Mo.
