HENDERSON, Tenn. - The Freed-Hardeman Lion basketball team struggled to overcome a poor first half shooting performance Saturday afternoon, as they suffered a 64-47 loss at the hands of Park University at the Brewer Sports Center.
Despite the loss, Marcus Baldwin led the Lions on the attack with 16 points, including an 8-for-14 shooting performance from the field. However, Baldwin was the only FHU player to reach double figures, as the Lions mustered just 23 points in the first half and 24 in the second half to trail the entire game.
The Lions (6-13, 3-8 AMC) shot 38 percent from the field and 20 percent from behind the arc compared to Park University (5-10, 2-9 AMC), who shot 48 percent from the field and 15 percent from behind the arc.
Four players reached double figures for the Pirates, led by Mason Stuteville who ended the day with 16 points. Zach Rutland followed close behind with 15 points while Allen Hyatt rounded out the scoring with 12 points and nine rebounds in the win.
With the loss, the Lions fall to 6-13 on the season and 3-8 in conference play. Park University moves to 5-10 on the season and 2-9 in AMC play with the win.
