Lions Fall On The Road At Missouri Baptist

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The Freed-Hardeman Lion basketball team struggled to find their stride Thursday evening, as they suffered an 87-56 loss at the hands of Missouri Baptist University on the road in St. Louis, Mo.

Despite the loss, Marcus Baldwin led the Lions on the attack with 10 points, including a 5-for-8 shooting performance from the field. However, Baldwin was the only FHU player to reach double figures, as the Lions mustered just 28 points in each half to suffer the 31 point loss.

The Lions (5-11, 2-7 AMC) shot 35 percent from the field and 29 percent from behind the arc compared to Missouri Baptist (14-2, 6-2 AMC), who shot 49 percent from the field and 43 percent from behind the arc.

Fitzgerald Hopkins led the Spartans on the offensive end, as he contributed 17 points while Jahmouri Robinson and Torrance Littles followed close behind, each with 10 points in the win.

With the loss, the Lions fall to 5-11 on the season and 2-7 in conference play. Missouri Baptist improves to 14-2 on the season and 6-2 in AMC play with the win.

UP NEXT: The Lions continue their road schedule Saturday, January 6th, as they take on St. Louis College of Pharmacy for a 3:00 PM match-up in St. Louis, Mo.
