Lady Lions Suffer Straight Sets Loss To Martin Methodist

PULASKI, Tenn. - The Freed-Hardeman Lady Lion volleyball team suffered their seventh loss of the season Tuesday at the hands of in-state foe Martin Methodist College following a hard fought battle on the road in Pulaski, Tenn. (25-20, 25-23, 25-16)

Despite the loss, several players on the Lady Lions roster contributed solid minutes including Bojana Antunovic, who led FHU (9-7) on the attack with 13 kills. Claire Walker followed close behind with eight kills while Emma Self dished out 24 of FHU's 26 assists in the loss.

Sabrie Sirmones led Martin Methodist (10-9) on the attack with 14 kills while Kaitlyn Lund Van followed close behind with 12 kills of her own. Sydney Arnold dished out 35 assists while Hayley Brisendine countered FHU's attack well and accumulated 17 digs in the win. The Redhawks accumulated 42 kills and hit .191 in the match compared to the Lady Lions who hit just .076 in the match with 29 kills.

With the loss, the Lady Lions fall to 9-7 on the season. Martin Methodist improves to 10-9 on the season with the win.

UP NEXT: The Lady Lions are back in action Friday, October 19th, as they take on Central Baptist College for a 6:00 PM road match-up in Conway, Ark.
