Lions Fall To Central Baptist 81-62 At Home

HENDERSON, Tenn. - The Freed-Hardeman Men's Basketball team suffered their fourth loss of the season Tuesday evening, as Central Baptist College handed the Lions an 81-62 loss at the Brewer Sports Center.

Despite the loss, Bryan Mitchell led the Lions (2-4, 0-2 AMC) on the attack with 17 points after shooting 7-for-14 from the field. Charles Swain also reached double digits for the Lions, as he finished the night with 11 points after shooting an impressive 3-or-5 from behind the arc.

The Lions struggled to stop the offensive attack of the Mustangs (7-0, 2-0 AMC), who shot 47 percent from the field and 59 percent from behind the arc in the match-up. Despite the impressive shooting from CBC, the Lions held their own in the first half, as both teams were knotted up at 34 apiece entering the break.

However, despite keeping things close in the first half, the Mustangs were able to pull away in the second half, courtesy of a 52 percent shooting performance from the field and 67 percent shooting from behind the arc.

Ruston Hayward led the Mustangs on the attack with 20 points after shooting 8-for-18 from the field and 2-for-3 from behind the arc. Tyrone Alston and Percell Washington also reached double digits for CBC, as Alston finished the night with 17 points while Washington chipped in 10 points.

With the loss, the Lions fall to 2-4 on the season and 0-2 in conference play. Central Baptist College improves to 7-0 on the season and 2-0 in AMC play with the win.

UP NEXT: The Lions are back in action Thursday, November 29th, as they host Hannibal-LaGrange University for a 7:30 PM match-up at the Brewer Sports Center.
