Lions Fall To Hannibal-LaGrange 75-53 At Home

HENDERSON, Tenn. - The Freed-Hardeman Men's Basketball Men's Basketball struggled to overcome a slow second half Thursday evening, as they suffered a 75-53 loss to Hannibal-LaGrange University at the Brewer Sports Center.

Despite the loss, Bryan Mitchell led the Lions (2-5, 0-3 AMC) on the attack with 16 points after shooting 7-for-12 from the field. Francis Agbata also reached double digits for the Lions, as he finished the night with 12 points after shooting an impressive 6-for7 from the field.

The Lions struggled to stop the offensive attack of Hannibal-LaGrange (2-5, 2-2 AMC), who shot 48 percent from the field and 46 percent from behind the arc in the match-up. Despite the impressive shooting from the Trojans, the Lions held their own in the first half, as both teams were knotted up at 34 apiece entering the break.

However, despite keeping things close in the first half, the Trojans were able to pull away in the second half, courtesy of hot shooting by HLGU leader Brady Smith, who fired in 32 points after shooting an impressive 5-for-9 from behind the arc. Ryan Ward and Tryone Hueitt, Jr. also reached double digits for Hannibal-LaGrange, as Ward finished the night with 14 points while Hueitt chipped in 13 points in the win.

With the loss, the Lions fall to 2-5 on the season and 0-3 in conference play. Hannibal-LaGrange University improves to 2-5 on the season and 2-2 in AMC play with the win.

UP NEXT: The Lions are back in action Monday, December 3rd, as they take on Tougaloo College for a 6:00 PM out-of-conference match-up in Tougaloo, Miss.
