Lions Fall 65-58 To William Woods At Home

HENDERSON, Tenn. - The Freed-Hardeman Lion Basketball team started strong Thursday evening, but could not hold on, as they suffered a 65-58 loss to William Woods University at the Brewer Sports Center.

Despite the loss, the Lions (2-8, 0-4 AMC)) received solid contribution from Francis Agbata, who fired in 13 points after shooting an impressive 6-for-14 from the field. John Musselwhite and Silas Clark also reached double figures in the match-up, as Musselwhite fired in 11 points while Clark chipped in 10 points in the loss.

Four players reached double figures for William Woods (5-5, 2-2 AMC), led by David Johnson, Jr., who fired in 24 points. Austin Curry and Shad Kimble followed close behind, each with 11 points while Treshawn Gause rounded out the WWU attack with 10 points.

The Lions shot 35 percent from the field and 27 percent from behind the arc compared to William Woods who shot 40 percent from the field and 22 percent from three-point range in the win. The Lions committed 14 turnovers in the loss compared to WWU who turned the ball over 18 times in the win.

With the loss, the Lions fall to 2-8 on the season and 0-4 in conference play. William Woods moves to 5-5 on the season and 2-2 in AMC play with the win.

UP NEXT: The Lions are back in action Saturday, December 15th, as they host Columbia College for a 3:00 PM match-up at the Brewer Sports Center.
